Configure mirrors for entropy?

Postby Amranu » Sat Jul 26, 2008 4:48

How do you? The default mirror doesn't work, causing a 10 second delay to the beginning of the download of -every- pack and update, and the second mirror has a rather low download speed. I've looked around the wiki and couldn't really find anything to help with this.

In /etc/entropy/repositories.conf, move the mirror.garr.it entry to the bottom of the list.

That entry is already at the bottom of the list but it always comes up first - would it help to move it to the top?

I've deleted it altogether and am just waiting for an update to try it :)

The mirror list prio is read from bottom to top.
So if garr.it is on bottom it will be prio 1.

Why is it like that?

And I thought it was only the British who enjoyed getting on top of the bottom

I see that the latest Entropy 0.19.0 has put back mirror.garr.it in /etc/entropy/repositories.conf (I've removed it again). Wouldn't it be a good idea to remove it from the list altogether as it is never "found"?
