Regnum Online [Solved]

Postby Wolfcastle » Wed Jul 09, 2008 15:17

Hello,
I recently installed Regnum Online, a great Argentinian mmorp, in Sabayon and the game works great but there is no sound. Googling for the solution i found out that I have to install libalut or openal but neither of these libraries are in the repository. They might be in portage, I don't know...haven't really learned to use that yet...Does anybody know how I can fix this? any help is appreciated.

First of all 'openal' IS available in the entropy repository under the category 'media-libs' (you can browse the packages online here: http://packages.sabayonlinux.org)

Info on how to setup openal can be found on the gentoo wiki:

Hi,
You're right both freealut and openal are in repositories, sorry for not noticing, I tend to forget that spritz separates installed from not installed packages so when my search gave no results i thought they were not present.
Well then the problem is not the libraries...I'll try to fix this and if I succeed I'll let you know so you can enjoy this great game ;-)

Ok, It works now :-D
Had to configure openal as explained in the link you posted. Thank you for you help. For some reason using alsa doesn't work so I have to use SDL. Btw the linux client for Regnum Online can be downloaded at http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/index.php?l=0&sec=6
