spritz and emerge

Postby hadian » Tue Jul 08, 2008 16:26

thouth spritz is a very nice pakage manager, some of the pakages i need are not in sabayon repository while they are available in gentoo repo. i want to know if i can use emerge command for installing some packages while use sprits and sabayon repositoriy or they man conflict?
(i suggested my required packages considering viewtopic.php?f=76&t=13891 but it may take a while to add it to sabayon repo.)

I use equo/spritz for the majority of stuff that I use, but occasionally when it's not in the database yet or if I want specific USE flags then I use emerge. I haven't run into any problems so far other than having to mask programs to prevent entropy trying to downgrade them. Don't forget also that this is a work in progress, and that eventually the differences in the gentoo and entropy databases will lessen as more binaries are produced. You also have the potential advantages of the community repositories coming on-stream too.
