1680x1050@60

G'day, just downloaded the Live DVD and found out that it only supports a maximum resolution of 1024x768@75.

Are there any plans for supporting 1680x1050@60 straight out of the box? Unfortunately 1024x768 looks pretty horrible on my 20" monitor :cry:

Apart from that it's gotta be the best looking default GUI in the Linux world.

Cheers.

I had the same problem. I just added the resolution to my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file

The mode line (I changed mine under 24 bit) looks like this:

Modes "1680x1050" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"

The first is the default. Rebooting to restart the xserver should do it for you.

@Fester:

I use a resolution of 1920x1200@66.

I simply booted with: gentoo res=1920x1200 refresh=66
