How can i know which packages are installed for unmerge them? it is possible, or i will need to tray them one by one?

Hez guys! Having trouble here... it seems that dvd instalation copy all the software available for linux today! I just want to get an only one x window manager, i dont want an antivirus, wine, etc...
How can i know which packages are installed for unmerge them? it is possible, or i will need to tray them one by one?

Yes, it is quite possible, next time you'll want to d/l and install the mini edition which is much smaller 
To unmerge something (be careful, use -p before always)
# emerge wine -Cp
To pretend and make sure its going to only do that,
# emerge wine -Cp
To remove something like gnome, its a bit more time consuming: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Remove_Gnome

you could also install the miniedition
i am yet to try the full one, but i have also heard that its got a LOT of apps!

Yes... the mini edition... i have yet 4.000.000 linux cds... jwith live, install, etc disk, well... I know about emerge, unmerge and so... i'm using savayor because i'm tired of gentoo compilation fails... but i just wonder if is there a way to know witch packages are emerge (a list, for check and unmerge them...)
But, thank you very much too!! I'll try to dl. the mini edition and install it... I hope not a gentoo like instalation (because the manual way is not dificult but buggy, and the graphical is some way a piece of hell in your box, it colapses if any package won't install/compile...)
Let's give another try to sabayon, or maybe flee back to slackware... time and success will decide, hope sabayon wins the challenge!!
