fixed it

first solution------not fully tested

but anyways

echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
echo "et.x86 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss

and then it worked

for ET true combat elite to use punkbuster and run properly it took some doing but this is where I got the answer

eventually it will be easier
