Hi.

I have the typical error GTK not present ... bla bla bla
I do:

python-updater -i

But get errors, and I make a emerge list to do it manually.

Continues...

Ok my dears :)

I have been silent for some days - but in the meantime I've spent some hours and created a new design. It would be great, if you could have a look at the screenshots.
If you want to test the new design: You can download it here. Then just untar it and execute ./portato.py -L in the created directory.

I would really appreciate some feedback. :)

Regards,
Necoro

P.S.: Don't expect the downloaded version to really do the work. It just focuses on the new design ;)

Ok ... there was an error in the package ... please re-download (same link as above) ... but now use ./run.sh for startup :)

For these of you who like to test a little bit :) ... As I want to release a new version in the following weeks, I created a pre-release to make sure it is nearly bugfree...

You can install it via:
Code: Select all
layman -f -o http://portato.sourceforge.net/layman.xml -a portato
emerge -av "=portato-0.8.9"

The current changelog is as follows:
- added view for "installed only"
- removed "--ebuild" mode
- added log, ebuild, files, and changelog as tabs
- saved preferences (aka sessions)
- added scrollbars to the update window
- handle new "use defaults" correctly
- allowed the permanent change of a plugin status
- added "ALL" category
- new design

The new design is very similar to the one presented above :)

New prerelease 0.8.9.1:
Major changes: Improved design and implemented a new handling for installing/deinstalling packages.

It would be very appreciated to get some opinions about the new handling. It may/will be different to those already known the frontend - but should make live easier for all users to come.

Aah ... and btw: Still looking for people willing to do some translations :)

And again a new prerelease: 0.8.9.2
New features:
- interactive emerges are now possible (i.e. ebuilds that want some input from the user=
- the queue is not cleared at once but only package after package (this was an always wanted feature I implemented now)

I hope this to be the last one ...
