Question about k3b

Has anyone else been experiencing problems burning dvd-r with k3b? I've tried to search for this topic and no dice. I've tried upgrading all the base burning software - cd-tools and that jazz but still no luck. I even went as far as to peruse the source for several of the burning tools to see weather it even has the code for dvd-r and it seems in order. I have no idea why k3b isn't burning but it starts growfs and then says media not supported. I'll try using the new version of sabayon and see if that works. Please advise.

All I use is dvd-r and I do a lot of burning. Try running it from command line and see if any errors come up.
