MSN with wine? [Solved]

Postby Allen111 » Sun Dec 23, 2007 4:48

First of all, I would like to thank all the devs for creating a wonderful OS. I tried Ubuntu and it wouldn't pick up my Nvidia card, but Sabayon did :D .

Ok now onto to the question.

I was wondering if there was a way to install MSN using the Windows emulator, wine. If there is, can someone please explain to me how this could be done? If you're curios as to why I want MSN when theres Pidgin, aMSN etc. Well its because I need a messenger that allows Video support. I know Kopete has Video support but I haven't been able to emerge it. I keep getting the same error over and over again even after I try to fix it.

Thanks in advance,
Allen

Code: Select all
Please reemerge =x11-libs/qt-3* with USE="opengl".

You really should check the forums on missing use flags in your etc/make.conf

lol

yes, it tells you exactly what to do even, read the error - part of running computers is troubleshooting and this error even tells you what to do

aMSN has video support. The only thing it does not support yet is audio.

Wow, thanks. I feel really dumb  . I was trying to USE="opengl" emerge qt but it wouldn't work, so I thought it was un-fixable. I got it running now, thanks.
