Kicker doesn't work [Solved]

Postby JimmyJ » Sun Dec 16, 2007 19:43

Hi,

I installed Sabayon a few days ago and I love it so far, but every second or third time I boot it up the kicker doesn't respond at all. I can't get into the KDE menu or use any quicklaunch shortcuts. I have to start all programs with a desktop shortcut or with Alt+F2. If I hit Alt+Ctrl+Backspace and log in again everything will usually work fine. Is this a normal problem with Sabayon? Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks,hopefully that will work.

I think it's a great idea to have a separate section of the forum for known issues, that way people don't have to keep answering the same stuff, and us newbies will know where to go to answer our own questions. :D

It's true that searching can often give the desired results. However in this case I went through about 35 of the 75 pages of search results in multiple languages  and a light went on in my head. Maybe putting all know issues and fixes in one place would help everyone. That way we would know where to look for solutions to common problems and the people who know the answers wouldn't have to keep replying. :)

Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea. If you read the thread I was linked to several others mention it as well.
