VMware & Vitualbox problems

Postby jcer93705 » Tue Nov 20, 2007 4:53

Hi all I am having trouble on getting these programs to installed. On
Vmware I get this. Can someone help me?

* Please download the VMware-workstation-6.0.1-55017.i386.tar.gz at http://www.vmware.com/products/desktop/ws_features.html
* vmware-any-any-update113.tar.gz is also necessary for compilation
* but should already have been fetched.
* Fetch failed for 'app-emulation/vmware-workstation-6.0.1.55017'

* Messages for package app-emulation/vmware-modules-1.0.0.17:

* This package will overwrite one or more files that may belong to other
* packages (see list below). Add "collision-protect" to FEATURES in
* make.conf if you would like the merge to abort in cases like this. You
* can use a command such as `portageq owners / <filename>` to identify
* the installed package that owns a file. If portageq reports that only
* one package owns a file then do NOT file a bug report. A bug report is
* only useful if it identifies at least two or more packages that are
* known to install the same file(s). If a collision occurs and you can
* not explain where the file came from then you should simply ignore the
* collision since there is not enough information to determine if a real
* problem exists. Please do NOT file a bug report at
* http://bugs.gentoo.org unless you report exactly which two packages
* install the same file(s). Once again, please do NOT file a bug report
* unless you have completely understood the above message.
*
* Detected file collision(s):
*
* /lib/modules/2.6.22-sabayon/misc/vmmon.ko
* /lib/modules/2.6.22-sabayon/misc/vmnet.ko
* /lib/modules/2.6.22-sabayon/misc/vmblock.ko
*
* /lib/modules/2.6.22-sabayon/build/System.map not found.
* You must manually update the kernel module dependencies using depmod.
*

* Messages for package app-emulation/vmware-workstation-6.0.1.55017:

* Fetch failed for 'app-emulation/vmware-workstation-6.0.1.55017'
* GNU info directory index is up-to-date.
* IMPORTANT: 5 config files in '/etc' need updating.
* See the CONFIGURATION FILES section of the emerge
* man page to learn how to update config files.

And vitualbox

This is what comes up

Vitual box is already installed I can run the program, but i cant start the vitual because this is what comes up
before even booting off the cd. Crazy

VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Re-setup the kernel module by executing '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' as root.
VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

Result Code:
0x80004005
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {1dea5c4b-0753-4193-b909-22330f64ec45}

Then when I login root on console then i do /etc/init.d/vboxdry setup it shows

localhost james # /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
* Stopping VirtualBox kernel module ... [ ok ]
* Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module ... [ ok ]
* Starting VirtualBox kernel module ...
FATAL: Error inserting vboxdrv (/lib/modules/2.6.22-sabayon/misc/vboxdrv.ko): Invalid module format
* modprobe vboxdrv faile

!!! app-emulation/vmware-workstation-6.0.1.55017 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually. See the comments in the ebuild for more information.
