check if the dvd has been burned correctly, if it's ok you can press F5 and add
Code: Select all
acpi=off noapic rmmod=ath5k rmmod=ath_pci
also since you have a 64 bit processor i suggest you to use x86_64 since acpi code for x86 and x86_64 are different and it might work better for you, as for your wifi madwifi still has't put out the new hal that includes ar5007eg I can tell you that since it's also my card and I'm forced to use ndiswrapper for now that works correctly on x86_64

Can you help me? In 3.4f it was installed from the beginning.

same procedure, just skip "emerge ati-drivers &&....." and it will go well

Hello,

first of all, thank you very much to all Sabayon developers, i really LOVE it ! I had tried many other linuxes before (from old RedHat 6.* and 7.* to Red Hat Enterprise 3 and 4, Fedora Core 4 and several Ubuntus and even tried to install Gentoo without success) and have to say that i like this one very much. So far, i've been using Sabayon 3.4e (x86_64) for a couple months and i'd like to know what are the differences between 3.4e and PE 1.1:

-which programs are new on PE 1.1 ?
-which programs are NOT on PE 1.1 that were on 3.4e?

I also have one doubt, when i'm using Sabayon (3.4e) some of the windows i have open turn grey (and even though sometimes the windows itself it's responding, i can resize them etc the program on that window is completely unresponsive). Any ideas on what's happening? I'm using CompizFusion, which i managed to configure thanks to the great Live Help.

Thanks again, good work !!

Guillem.

You can find out the differences in packages between releases by looking in the Press Releases section of the forum, clicking on the press release link for each release you're interested in, clicking on the Package list link and copying it to a file on your desktop. Then use the diff -y command to see a side-by-side comparison of each release. For example:

http://www.sabayonlinux.org/sabayon/pkg ... ckages.txt

http://www.sabayonlinux.org/sabayon/pkg ... ckages.txt

http://www.sabayonlinux.org/sabayon/pkg ... ckages.txt

diff -y Sabayon-x86_64-1.1-ProfessionalEdition.packages.txt Sabayon-x86_64-1.0-BusinessEdition.packages.txt

diff -y Sabayon-x86-1.1-ProfessionalEdition.packages.txt SabayonLinux-x86-3.4e.packages.txt

Compiz is not installed by default in the PE version.
