Saving system

I read somewhere cannto remember where that there is a tool when you have installed everything the way you like to save the state/image of you ststem so you can get it back like that next time if you do a new install.

In wondows I would have installed everything ie OS, Office, mail etc. then created an image with drive image then from then on all i needed to do was load the image?
