final tweak for RT2500 to get working, Help

Ok i found out last time that the RT2500 driver that was installed be default was stuffed,

so i learnt and did these things
blacklisted the existing RT2500 modules
installed the drivers from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/
followed the instructions from those for file setup
restarted and rt2500 shows up in lsmod but isnt being used by anything
ifconfig up ra0 gives me a not found error and knetwork manager doesnt have wireless in it anymore

what do i do? also im a newb so if anything isnt clear i probably wont be able to figure it out. btw i can use konsole to a reasonable degree, can someone tell me how to make files in konsole too
