equo doesn work after install from miniCD

Postby ssabchew » Sat Sep 29, 2007 14:19

Hi there,
I instlled Sabayon from miniCD, and I realized that I don't have skype, so I looked for a tool to install it.
I searched the forums here and found this nice tool equo which install binary pakcages - this is the reason that I choose Sabayon
I don;t have time and nerves to compile OpenOffice or KDE system ;-)

So my questions are:

"equo" pakcage wasn't installed - WHY?

I emerged it and got to this error:
PC1 ~ $equo install skype
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "equo", line 103, in <module>
import queryTools
ImportError: No module named queryTools
PC1 ~ $

did you

equo database generate

first?

Also keep in mind that the binary packages at this time are still limited amounts.

import queryTools
ImportError: No module named queryTools

Already did it :-)

but may be there is something else...
I've just did
emerge --sync
and then
emerge portage

After that I decided to update system and world - as abayon is running on my amd machine - so I've changed the make.conf and give a try
but...

emerge system -v

Well it appered that on this line 103 is a code that imports a labrary that is not there :-)
****code***
import queryTools
****code***

So this lybrary is not in the package.
I installed the old version equo-9999-r3 and everything is ok!

Do not use it unless you know what you are doing...
