We are waiting on a few softwares fixes from their developers and once ready we can use it here. Check gentoo.org forums / wiki as well and or wiki on top of this page as it might have your specific hardware how-to's and other usefull stuff. Nit sure but have seen something similar in gentoo forums about your hardware could be wrong.

Sabayonlinux = gentoo based = same fixes there can work here as well.

LOL I will start seeding again but will be slow 14kb/s upload = crappy ISP just hang in there. You can possibly try Ktorrent or the old Azureus before the new stuff they added aaarrggghh.
It works well and bans garbage uploaders that sometimes happen.

well, the first time I downloaded SL 3.4f x86 & x86_64 it downloaded incredible slow the first day, after that day I noticed I had to start one download at a time, when I woke up the next morning both iso's were downloaded...
some day later I tried to burn the x86_64 but K3B told me it was not a right ISO9660 format so then I tried the x86 iso and it also gave the same problem as the x86_64 one... I tried to download the x86_64 again with ktorrent, yesterday it was finally downloaded (again) I tried again with K3B and happily it worked :) I checked the MD5sums and did a verification of the files it had burned, that all went ok. I haven't tried to install / run it yet, but I don't think there will be much problems unless I have the same trouble mentioned before in this topic xD not to hope :wink:
untill now I have downloaded almost every revision of 3.4 and also tried them and I will also try this one, but I'm getting a little tired of reinstalling every month or so. for now I think I will wait for the 3.5 release unless 3.4f harms my system in some kind of way...

I can see my wireless SSID, so the adapter is working, but how do I enter the WPA2 Key so I can connect to it?
I have been reading the FAQ's, but nothing I try seems to be fixing the connection problem. PCLinuxOS 2007 connects just fine.

Linux Kernel 2.6.22.6 includes wireless fixes, which are apparently affecting a lot of people. Knetworkmanager has been blaming the kernel on it's problems. I think it might only be affecting using WPA2 encryption. Your mileage may vary ...

If the point is keeping the CPU busy to avoid the freeze, get BOINC (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/). That way your CPU will at least do something useful (more useful than rendering fractals!), like folding proteins.

The updated Linux Kernel 2.6.22.6 still hasn't fixed the WPA2 Encryption problems I experience with the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Adapter.
I can see my network but not connect to it. What's up with that? :scratch:

Is the mac address of your wifi ipw3945 same as what I am typing with here now in 3.4f in the wifi router allow list ?
Some passwords needs to be case sensative for it to work ?
In the 3.4f live dvd or installed I right click knetworkmanager + other network + linksys in space there , select wpa2 , select auto , add password and it connects every time.

If doing it the same as me = good or bad results ?
Does the router need a reset and see if you can connect with router default settings ? If not the the signal has too much noise or is to weak or is too far away 150foot effective beyond any wifi router claims as there is several other things that removes the "in perfect circumstances theory" of a perfect connection.

IPW3945 is a bit less sensative in linux , much weaker than bcm4311mcg but not much as the firmware does not have the extra windows booster software running for the ipw3945.
See networking part of the forums ipw3945 before 3.4e sticky for help. or even radiation / flower type pic of signal at bottom.

I can't comment on WPA2, but my home network uses WPA Personal, WPA1 with TKIP, and KNetworkManager works fine.
