There is no OSS driver in winecfg

Postby Denzo » Sun Sep 09, 2007 10:25

I'm trying to get Counter-Strike Source running. The last piece of the guide tells me to set winecfg to use the OSS driver.

Unfortunately only ALSA, EsounD and JACK are available.

How do I get OSS?

Regards,

Was wine emerged with the "oss" USE flag?

Try that. :)

Thanks. So if I run that in the terminal my wine will update or will I have to uninstall?

Why do you need oss when there's ALSA OSS emulation?

I don't know about that. I have not much experience with Sabayon, I used to dualboot TinyXP and Ubuntu, but I installed Sabayon because I heard it was good for gaming. Haven't used it much since install, but now I'm trying to get my games running on here.

Also oss emulation has nothing to do with Sabayon, thats the thing with Ubuntu it doesn't teach you anything about your system, you wouldn't drive a car without learning how it works would you?
