Background:
With Star Wars: Best of PC there are known install issues with Wine (it just doesn't work...even after launching the game's seperate installer and not the html based lucasarts dvd splash screen), however the original Republic Commando disc installs and plays normally under Wine. I have BoPC, and am trying to get Republic Commando to work under wine. I have installed it under Windows, and when I run the .exe in wine the splash screen pops up, then the game menu screen comes up (no sound because it detected the x-fi as my primary device when I installed it under windows), however about 3/4s of it is below my monitor. I have tried it both at my monitor's native resolution (1680x1050), and 1024x768 (didnt make a permanent change in the xconfig if that is important). From looking at the structure of the CD's directory, it is more or less the seperate games and a universal splash screen, which leads me to believe that if (hypotheticaly speaking) I were to torrent the original republic commando .iso and burn it, I would be able to install it native under linux with my BoPC cd key (where it would hopefully detect my mobo sound and not my x-fi as the primary device
Questions:
Is there a way to bring it all the way onto my screen? (I tried adjusting the video position on my monitor and nothing happened which leads me to believe that it froze up...)
Would it be legal/ethical to get the iso, burn it, and install it using my BoPC key? If the BoPC key didn't work would it be legal/ethical to use a keygen?
Thanks all!
