Im having a few problems with my windows and compiz

Postby xionxj » Sat Aug 25, 2007 0:18

Okay, so I logged on today and my window borders were gone. Compiz worked perfectly fine now. So I came to the forums and looked around and found someone had fixed thier problem by using the "eselect opengl set nvidia" command. So I typed that in on terminal when I logged into the root account from the login screen (Im a linux noob and dont know how to login as root from the terminal of my account.)

So then I log back into my account and Compiz is disabled, I have my window borders back, but know I have to use this red border which I dont like at all and cant switch the style using Emrald.

Can somebody help me before I just reformat?

To become root in a terminal, type "su" (no quotes). It will then ask for your root password. To return to your normal user account, type "exit" (again no quotes).

To re-enable Emerald's window border effects, right-click on the Compiz-Fusion icon in your system tray and go to "Select Window Decorator" -> "Emerald".

If you need more help feel free to ask. :)

to re-add the panel on the top just right click the task bar and and go "add new panel --> panel" then right click the new panel and click on "add applet to panel" then find the system tray.
