I cant seem to run beryl, its just not showing up, is that because I'm running off a boot cd? Does it have anything to do with the message that says something about me not having OpenGL and cant run window acceleration? I don't know... can anyone help?

Opengl should be there as the games has to have it to run in live dvd mode. Could be wrong.
Not sure what pc hardware you have so will try to help.
On the live dvd is a readme file with cheat codes for gentoo , use only needed ones if unsure about this.
You can use them at live dvd boot by pressing F5 and adding them there at the bottom where the text apears.
Mine:
xdriver=nvidia res=1440x900 --
or similar depending on what your screen / video card is and can do.
This should force the boot process to load the driver for the video card you have and tehn it should work.
If nvidia then when asked about no glx / aiglx / glx try it once with aiglx and if it does not work boot the same way and then select no glx to see if any better.
nvidia:
xdriver=nvidia res=1024x768
ati:
xdriver=ati res=1024x768
intel inbuild most of them uses:
xdriver=i810 res=1024x768
could even be
xdriver=915resolution
not sure about the intel one but should work by default if not adding this.
Hope this helps.
