Lexmark Printer Z611

I'm new to this Linux thing so if I'm asking a dumb question please forgive me. I've been trying to add a printer (USB) as a Lexmark printer and no selection for the Z611 exists in the printer class. Ive tried the old Z11 settings but printer does nothing. Help please!

Apparently it's not easy to get your printer working under Linux. Check the procedure given in the Gentoo Wiki page below:

Thanks for the info! Looks like I have to get the manual "Linux for Dummies" to get up to speed on this Linux operating system. I tired out KUBUNTU Linux but that was even worse! My DVD wouldn't work, the extra Sata drive was not available and only one login screen for 2 users. Guess it's back to reloading Sabayon on spare Hard Drive!
