Lexmark Printer Z611

Postby rabbit511 » Sun Aug 26, 2007 3:07

I'm new to this Linux thing so if I'm asking a dumb question please forgive me. I've been trying to add a printer (USB) as a Lexmark printer and no selection for the Z611 exists in the printer class. Ive tried the old Z11 settings but printer does nothing. Help please! :(

Apparently it's not easy to get your printer working under Linux. Check the procedure given in the Gentoo Wiki page below:

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! :D Looks like I have to get the manual "Linux for Dummies" to get up to speed on this Linux operating system. I tired out KUBUNTU Linux but that was even worse! :x My DVD wouldn't work, the extra Sata drive was not available and only one login screen for 2 users. Guess it's back to reloading Sabayon on spare Hard Drive! :)
