extreme no0b question

extreme no0b question

I just installed SL... when I boot up it goes straight to command mode. what is the command to get back to the GUI? I tried everything I can think of and the help cmd doesn't list it... please advise

what hardware?
try the cheat codes?
verify your md5sum and burn?

startx will normally start x when you are logged in on a console - If not, it should at least give you an error message.

I had the same problem with 3.4f. Rolled back to 3.4e and the problem was gone. Emerged suspend2 and broke it again. I can boot up if i do it interactively, but with limited functionality. Made a post about it, but no response. Perhaps I should change the title to include the word "n00b". :wink:

The only thing i can come up with is you didn't install right. =] It happened to me this way, and I didn't install right, so re-install properly.
