Azureus tries to update to Vuze

Postby AmpLiF1eR » Sun Aug 19, 2007 11:12

Azureus tries to upgrade to Azureus Vuze, so the autoupdater starts to download and asks me to restart the application.
After restart, it starts to download it again, because the updater just doesn't work.
I've tried to disable the update-plugin in settings, but still Azureus tries to update so I have to manually cancel the update after each start of Azureus.

Anyone knows the trick to stop Azureus to look for updates ?
:)

(I know that when the latest Azureus will be in portage much later, this problem will be solved after emerging it, but for now, a workaround would be nice, to be honest, I don't like Vuze... too bloated)

hmm, ok I will give Vuze a chance and do it manually, it's just that I didn't feel the need for an update, I was happy with how it was working now :)

This is happening to me too, and Azureus is totally useless. Any time I try to open a torrent, it just crashes and burns. (thanks to fusion for the burn. :D)

I've tried removing Azureus and re installing it but the the same thing happens. Has anyone got it working with 3.4e? Ktorrent just doesn't cut it for me...

Azureus works fine for me. It tries to download an update to Vuze everytime I open it up but I just click "Cancel". The update to Vuze never works no matter how many times I restart it, so I just cancel the update each time.

If you do let it update to the vuze thing (I think its terrible but hey) you can change the settings to show the old UI :)

As for the other guys az problem, maybe look into reinstalling java then az, or look at any console output when ti crashes to see if you can get a hint

I have the same problem, but I don't see it in my packages list in Portato to manually update it.

I actually like Ktorrent but find it very unstable. On my setup it will not run for more than 3-4 hours without crashing. VERY annoying when you want to donload something overnight! As a result I use Azureus which is a bit bloated for my liking but is at least reliable.

Exactly my point. I don't mind the bloat as long as it works. Although currently it still isn't. :(
