VLC 0.83c does not work

I have tried to remerge vlc about 5 times and I have gotten nowhere. I have remerged xine-lib and ffmpeg also but vlc does not work right. I have seen other people with this problem but no real solution. The video is what is screwed up. It is really shaky and not fluid.

Open 'Settings', then 'preferences' and tick the option 'advanced settings' in the bottom-right corner of vlc, then try all available choices here:



For me, X11 video works best.
