AMD MB - buying new - your recommendations?

Postby brodders » Fri Aug 17, 2007 15:36

Hi all,

My rig unusability remains. Other users of this mb (Abit KN9) have reported similar issues - so I am buying a new mb.

Recommendations ??

I'll migrate the CPU (AMD64 x2) and ram (2gigs DDR2-800) across.

:) What mb would you - **from experience, not read-about** - buy again?

Reliability must come top!

Thanks!

Abit KN9S - I'm not trying to be funny, but I've just built (6 days ago)my first A64 PC based on this m/board with a x2 3600 brisbane and 2GB of Crucial Ballistic DDR2 667 and a decent Seasonic 430W PSU. Everyting is at stock speed right now.

I would have preferred to have used the KN9 Ultra as reviwed at http://www.phoronix.com , but they are scarce in UK and are relatively expensive.

I updated to the latest BIOS before loading/running any os and so far have not hit any stability problems. I've run memtest and orthos without errors ...

I'm sorry you've hit problems. Could they be memory based?
