Hi

Did you re-emerge libX11 with the xcb flag enabled like it said so in the instructions above?

It would look something like USE="xcb" emerge =libX11-1.1.1-r1 (Replace the version with whatever your current version of libX11 is)

Cheers

I'm pretty sure I did, yeah... Not quite sure I changed any numbers.... how might I go about finding the version of my libX11?

What does it say if you type emerge -pv libX11 into a konsole window?

bri7x@Laptop7X ~ $ emerge -pv libX11

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild U ] x11-libs/libX11-1.1.2-r1 [1.1.1-r1] USE="ipv6 xcb -debug" 0 kB

Hi

Strange, looks like your libX11 is ok. You will have to post more of the error message you got when you tried to install compiz.

Cheers

Okay, crapped out again....

same error(s).. Should I paste the WHOLE thing though? Meaning all of the many, many errors it had during compilation?.. or perhaps send you that build log it talks about?

It won't let me attach the log file... should I paste the body of it into here? or
Should I upload it to my webserver and link you?

EDIT: http://www.socketxmp.com/compizhelp/build.log <(===there.
