Sound and Wine -bug? [Solved]

Postby Azerthoth » Thu Aug 16, 2007 0:51

Under wine in various other linux distro's I have used, and even in Sabayon 3.3 I could alt|tab to other programs while wine was up and not loose sound. With 3.4a in both 32 and 64 bit flavors the minute I switch from a full screen wine driven game the sound cuts out until I close the program and restart it. As

I am currently running Wine 0.9.43 I thought that might be the issue, so I tried removing and putting 0.9.40 in, which I knew for certain would let me switch focus without sound issues under 3.3. Unfortunately this had no effect on the glitch.

Any guidance on this would be great.

I solved the problem although not perfectly. Using the trick laid out for bringing World of Warcraft up in a second X session for any other game running under wine so far has fixed the dropping sound issue. So instead of alt|tab its now ctrl|alt|F7 back to the primary X session and then ctrl|alt|F8 to go back to the game. Not an optimal fix, but atleast a working one.
