where is hosts.allow?

Postby gallienus » Mon Aug 13, 2007 23:04

this might be a really dopey question but where is the hosts.allow file in sabayon? I looked in /etc/ and neither hosts.allow or hosts.deny is in there. Shouldn't this file be generated automatically?

WOW
Try the gentoo.org forums / wiki or maybe if you are very lucky the wiki on top of this page.

Might also be able to block ip's using one of the firewall software or "eselect profile list" and change to the server or just 2007.1 generic profile to install server as well as desktop type app's.

No clue as to how to get it to work but might try http://gentoo-portage.com/ and possbily run a deamon / install one to manage this or use the firewall software ???

Hope this help's.
