Can someone please help me? When I boot up Sabayon 3.4e, right before the splash screen I am getting very messed up looking display. The display looks like it is showing the monitors grid. After logon the display looks fine.
I have a Radeon 7200 graphics card and my monitor is a 19" Proview Widescreen flat panel monitor.
I have tried using F4 and changing the boot resolution with no effect. The problem only occures before logon. I have searched for a solution for two days.
Can someone please help me fix this?

Probably it's normal during the video card initialization.
If after the boot process everything goes fine, i don't see any reason to worry.
Your video card model ?
My Nvidia also has a similar behaviour during the first starting stage of SL, as many other distros.

I am not sure, my refresh rate is set to 75. The refresh rate is normally set to 60. I am afraid damage will occur to the monitor.

you can use the cheat code of res=1024x768 refresh=60 if you are booting the livecd/dvd - other wise edit your xorg.conf for the right info
