Slow Network

Postby momalle1 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 0:21

Hello, Sabayon noob here. I actually ran into Sabayon because I had issues with Mandriva, Suse, Ubuntu and Gentoo installing on an MSI P965, Sabayon only required I boot the DVD with all-generic-ide and did the rest itself. I miss the all encompassing admin panel Gentoo has, like Yast, but why I am here is my network card is very slow. It's slow in Konquerer and Firefox. On my LAN, I can only transfer files around 1.2 MBs. If I use Filezilla, I get around 12 MBs. the bandwidth is there, but I can't see how to do any configuration of the NIC. Any help would be appreciated as I am really liking Sabayon.

While I'm in the networking forum, does anyone know the syntax for "mapping" an SMB drive via fstab? Many applications still won't browse the network, so an always connected drive would be great. I used to do this with Gentoo a couple of years ago, but have lost my notes.

TIA
