Orinoco card in monitor mode

Postby Fooligan » Sun Aug 05, 2007 15:10

I'm looking for a way (HOWTO) to put my orinoco goldcard in the monitoring mode.
I found several messages saying that in the latest kernel release this should be automaticaly switched on. But it has not.

lspcmcia shows the following:
Socket 0 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: 0000:00:09.0)
Socket 0 Device 0: [orinoco_cs] (bus ID: 0.0)

iwpriv eth1 shows the following:

eth1 Available private ioctls :
force_reset (8BE0) : set 0 & get 0
card_reset (8BE1) : set 0 & get 0
set_port3 (8BE2) : set 1 int & get 0
get_port3 (8BE3) : set 0 & get 1 int
set_preamble (8BE4) : set 1 int & get 0
get_preamble (8BE5) : set 0 & get 1 int
set_ibssport (8BE6) : set 1 int & get 0
get_ibssport (8BE7) : set 0 & get 1 int
get_rid (8BE9) : set 0 & get 1024 byte

I have been told monitor should be one of the things mentioned in the left colum if it is on.

Another thing that I was told to do:
# iwpriv eth1 monitor m 1

But this gives the answer; Invalid command : monitor

Can anybody help me with this?
