quick stupid question about conf.d/net [Solved]

Postby sicknessjb » Fri Aug 03, 2007 14:49

i read the Sabayon wiki HOWTO set a static ip from my network and see this method

And then you may set your static IP to whichever way you'd like to. Easiest way would be that the user just edit /etc/conf.d/net according to the example file /etc/conf.d/net.example

my quick question how do i get the conf.d/net file open to edit and set set my network settings in console?

EDIT: do i add the network domain in the net file too? i'm hooking the laptop through a sonicwall but want to access files off my other work pc.
thanks
