Logitech MX 3200 Keyboard + Mouse wireless desktop

Has anyone had any luck getting the mx600 mouse that comes with this combo working properly with firefox? IE the backward and forward buttons? I ran through a bunch of changes in xorg.conf, stuff that I got from the gentoo wiki how to. Unfortunately, none of it seems to be working. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten it to work.
