Azureus not working out of the box [Solved]

Just installed 3.4a. Azureus would not run. Any ideas?

Try opening a terminal window and running it from there, it might provide some helpful output.

Same here. Re-emerged. Stil not working. Here's the output:

Looks like a Java issue, not an Azureus issue.. maybe emerge/re-emerge your Java implementation? I've never had to do this and I don't use any Java apps (find them terribly slow) but maybe someone else can help with this.

Try testing other Java apps!

Sorry it's not something useful, but I have the same problem. Will post back with a solution when/if I find one ;P

You are right. It's Java. I ran Azureus from the Terminal and the errors are all related to Java ( I'm not at the box now).I don't know how to fix it. I know I have to re-install JRE, but I don't know the exact name of the package and I'm to new to 'emerge' to know what I'm doing. In Ubuntu one goes to Synaptic>Search and you end up with your package. This is more complicated.

After a bit of experimentation I got it working after

emerge --sync && layman -S

emerge sun-jre-bin

at first run it complained about the swt version so I did

emerge swt

I don't think it made any difference but prior to the above I also did

emerge kdejava java-config-wrapper qtjava sun-java3d-bin javacc java-getopt

I'm seeding Sabayon v3.4 via azureus instead of ktorrent now that it's working again.
