Sound Card on P105 Satellite Toshiba Laptop

I have installed the OS, but for some odd reason my sound card is not working. I have opened the terminal and logged in as root and entered alsaconf and it sees my card and configures it but still no sound. I even went to kmix and set the volume as high as it will go with no effect.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? I have asked this question on the IRC help section but have no ideas as of yet!

I have installed this OS on my desktop PC with no problems at all. Everything seems to work properly. It's just my laptop that is giving me troubles with the sound.
