Can't Download ISO(ftp)

Postby Hutchy » Sun Nov 13, 2005 0:12

I dont get it? I tried the torrent a couple off times only to cancel because it claimed each time that the downloads were going to take between 18 & 11 days using broadband,
Also when I try downloading the ISO using ftp never seems to do lead to a DVD ISO.
So how can I download the latest DVD ISO 2.65?
I have tried lots of times & different avenues & different Downloaders ,
Can anyone point me in the right direction ,I really would prefer FTP if possible.
This is the list I tried from & the FTP Url I tried was this one that is in that list "- FTP Unito.it with RR4 2.65"

RR4 Linux AMD64 version: 2.50 - Download here
- Download from FTP Unito.it
Using kernel: 2.6.11-gentoo-reiser4-r4

RR4 Linux x86-32 version: 2.65
- Torrent (2.65)
- FTP Unito.it with RR4 2.65
- FTP Linux.it (2.60.3) and alt. 2.60.3 Torrent
- MD5: 2.60 - 2.60.2 - 2.60.3 - 2.60.4 - 2.65
- 2.60.4 to 2.65 xdelta patch
- 2.60.3 to 2.60.4 xdelta patch
- 2.65 Release notes
- Windows Addon for 2.60.2-to-2.60.3 patch
- Windows Addon for 2.60.3-to-2.60.4 patch
- Windows Addon for 2.60.4-to-2.65 patch
Using kernel: 2.6.13-angel3 (2.60~2.60.3) - 2.6.14-archck1 (2.60.4) - 2.6.14-archck4 (2.65)
- .config non-SMP 2.65
- .config SMP 2.65

Sorry I just want to add " Did I read somewhere one time that were actually supposed to download a earlier version of RR4 & that the new version is only a patch or something that we add it to upgrade it to 2.65 maybe , just wondering what would be easier.
Its just that I would prefer to always download the latest version of any distro as theres always more chance my Hardware will be detected or certain bugs and other problems that have been fixed can make a Install easier to do or am I now Confusing things even more as I cant seem to down load 2.65 at all using FTP

If you had stayed with the torrent, you probably would have it by now. I do.

Thanks 4 advice ,but just wondering if anyone knows if the FTP ISO is working or if there is one , & in regards to my first 2 posts ?
Would apreciate to know where I might of gone wrong ,
SomeTimes with new Distros or Versions that come out, that a FTP ISO doesn,t come out or work for a few days after the torrent is released as some always release a torrent before a FTP so to speak?

The FTP site has been offline for the past few hours. Ping ftp.unito.it to see if the situation changes.

ping is disabled, try "ftp ftp.unito.it" the ftp port is the only port open to world.

I'm Sorry but I keep getting "unknown Network Error"
I'M not sure if its from my end or not, even tried disabling firewall.
I guess I will have to be be patient & use the torrent again.
Thanks for trying to help, much appreciated.
