SL 3.4a installation - Intel Wireless card not recognized

Postby Heautontimoroumenos » Sat Jul 28, 2007 14:45

Hi guys and gals,
I just downloaded the 3.4a x86 ISO and burnt it on DVD; I checked the MD5sum, it was correct.
I am installing this on a Toshiba Satellite A100-775 laptop.
When booting the LiveDVD, Sabayon gets the resolution right again (which 3.26 did, but 3.3 did not, for whatever reason) but it does not seem to recognize my built-in wireless (Intel Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG) at all, which every prior SL version did flawlessly. When I click on KNetworkManager, it states "Device: No active device" and that's it.

What should I do/check?

Actually, I did. What I want to know if there is a way to get wireless working with the LiveDVD prior to the installation on the HD, and I did not find that. It all seemed to me to be about getting wireless working after HD installation, and I also tried the commands you gave there (which in the LiveDVD environment don't work). Sorry for being a noob.
Perhaps I'll just install it on HD and try the commands given in the other threads.
