No, RenderAccel does not need to be enabled for Compiz Fusion to work properly. In my experience it has actually caused a lot of problems when enabled.

Well i tried everything you guys told me.
Still the same thing :(
After reboot when i go to the screen resolution chooser, i don't have 1024x768.
Here are my choices :
1600x1200
1600x1024
1400x1050
1280x960
1152x768
800x600
640x480

Of course my laptop can't handle more than 1024x768 so i'm confused here...
BTW, i don't have that issue under ubuntu...

Resolution chooser aside, are you sure you aren't running at 1024x768? Do things look distorted?

I'm missing the right part of the screen.

Here's a screenshot. Firefox window is maximized and i don't see the cross to close the window at the top right of the window.

Well after messing with xorg.conf all morning, i finally solved it :)
I can't tell what exactly made it work, but it does.
I use the xorgcfg to configure the screen and voila :)

Edit : Now only compiz works weird.
It gives me a lot of error when i start it with compiz-start command :

Code: Select all
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x61
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x61
AIGLX detected
Using GTK decorator
Starting Compiz with: --replace ccp --sm-disable --indirect-rendering

(gtk-window-decorator:9059): Wnck-WARNING **: Unhandled action type (nil)

Any advices ?
