Hi guys,
I was waiting too long for that, the final Sabayon 3.4
but soon enough after it was released I realized I should stick with
the loop beta versions. You see things are so simple and people
make it hard. They introduce new bugs which have been fixed in
loop beta versions. I do not know why they keep doing that. I believe
they do not test extensively enough. So lets try to help them with the
testing and reporting back during the loop releases.
1) Suspend in RAM doesn't work neither from KDE nor GNOME.
Try to suspend and then resume again. From KDE you have no
chance; from GNOME however you will be lucky only once.
After resuming try to Suspend in RAM again, and you will get a blank
screen then. CTRL+BACKSPACE will not help, no matter what you do
no desktop will be there.
2) I have 802.11a/b/g wireless lan, and the driver for that used to be ipw3945.
In the new Sabayon 3.4 and in the Business edition they have switched to
another driver which hardly works. In the business edition I can't get connect,
In the 3.4 edition it connects only once and soon get disconnected but then
can't be again connected.
So I am wondering if the team who is working 4 months to correct its bugs
is testing extensively new drivers before merging them in the final official releases.
I would like to say to the team than for laptops SUSPEND in RAM is extremely important
and they should test it extensively before switching to new GNOME or KDE versions. It worked
fine with loop2b. Intenet also was fine. I should have sticked with that.
Please restore the ipw3945 driver, it is much more reliable and robust than the iwl3945.
Best wishes to all Sabayon funs,
Archwndas.
