3.4 on Dell X300 laptop = Compiz issues

Hello.

I'm new to sabayon and i'm experiencing some weird problems.

With the live dvd, everything works fine. Compiz works, my screen is at the correct resolution (1024x768).

So i installed it (very ultra long install on my laptop btw lol), and now, compiz doesn't work and my screen is using a weird resolution (1152x768).

I check in the screen resolution menu, i can't even select 1024x768, it doesn't show.
I tried to choose 800x600, the screen stays black :(

Any help/advices please ? I've search around but i couldn't find anything :(
My video chipset is Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)

reboot the livedvd back up and copy the /etc/X11/xorg.conf to your hard drive install

Well i wanted to try your method, but ran into a lot of trouble...

First, my keyboard doesn't work with the live dvd...

Second, it's slow... very slow and somehow i can't click on anything beside the icons on the desktop

Third, although compiz works with the live dvd, the screen resolution bug is still there, 1152x768 and no 1024x768 in the display menu :(

Any other idea ?

I installed by using the menu option "graphic install", not booting under kde then start the install, could it be the reason of my issues ?

when you boot live press f5 and add res=1024x768

Ok i succesfully copied the xorg.conf from the live dvd to my install partition.
Now compiz works but there's a lot of error when it loads.
Also, i can't find the option to not have the cube transparent.

I still have the screen resolution issue. I try messing with xorg.conf, removing every other choices and leaving only 1024x768, didn't work :(

Remove the #'s from the Modes lines in this section. You're cancelling them out by keeping them there. Then save, restart X, and tell us what happened.

in this section add Option "NoDDC" "Enabled"


Should I remove the # in front of Option "RenderAccel" "on" also ? Maybe that why compiz while work but with a lot of error and a lot of options missing...
