root shell question

Postby junglist » Thu Jul 26, 2007 9:23

i have tried to install 3.4 final on my laptop and come to a point i don't know how to go past. the dvd boots and i choose start without music. it starts to load and then drops me into a root shell saying "sabayon linux text installer not enabled"

i have tried "install-text" and "startx" none of these cheat codes work to start live dvd or install directly from first install menu.

any ideas folks?

Well one, don't use startx for starting the GUI - SL uses xdm

Two, take a look in the wiki for boot parameters or cheat codes
