Not sure if you had a look at this before. No clue how this works.
Maybe making a chroot script that does the loading / mounting at boot over the network.
Similar to a remote login or remote terminal login using ? protocol ?

Maybe replace the /mnt/gentoo that you chroot to with 192.168.0.7//mnt/gentoo
No clue how this works but seems reasonable.
I am sure there is a easier way.
If you have success with this I might be looking into something similar in the future.
I thought of running vmware on a server and then login to it but the actual machine acess is then limited to a vmware ? aplaince ?
Have a laptop with no screen here that I can do this with over network.
Vmware or other virtual pc software has it's benefit as server linux stays stable but the guest can be messed with and or reset at boot / non persistant or something.
Damn we need a guide for the wiki for this.
Only con I can see is if the connection is lost or the connection is made from the server to the pc / guest there has to be a reconnect script.
Pc guest to server host then only disconnection should be a problem , if only you can set the video / xserver to run on the pc / guest or use guest pc's video part and server for actual computing.
alt f1 is local pc , alt f2 is server + local video xserver ?
If only we had someone available that is familiar with servers and this type of thing.
