Beryl Stops Working after install.

Postby trmentry » Mon Jul 23, 2007 20:13

I booted up 3.3 to install it to play with it on my hd instead of the livecd while waiting for 3.4. The livecd has beryl working and all the bells and whistles with it.

I install it on my hd (sdb) and then reboot to load it up. Beryl is working and things are fine. I shutdown the computer and come back to the next day and Beryl isn't working anymore. It won't start. The Beryl Manager will start but falls back to the fallback manager.

Does anyone have any ideas? I can't find anything in the logs or such to indicate a problem. If I boot into the livecd again, it works fine.

I'm not overly concerned as I'm jsut playing around waiting for 3.4. But was curious if this could be an impending hardware failure or some such... or just a borked install.

Thanks

copy the xorg.conf off the livecd to your hard drive and see if that will do it. Make sure the fall back option is unchecked.
