How do i make this computer display 1280x800? 915resolution is already installed and not working.

Display is: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Controller 0

It should work with this config.
The module / driver might not be loaded yet.
Check using
lsmod
as root in terminal.

passwd: root
# lsmod


If it is not loaded use
modprobe i915

To get it to load at start edit /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 and add " i915 " to it.
# nano -w /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
Then save by pressing ctrl+x and answer y then restart.

Or browse to the file and open with kwrite

this is working for me (on gentoo) with a 945GM video card... i'm not using 915resolution because it's only needed for intel 915 video cards...

GOing to use my Dell E1705 with inbuild 945 / 950 video using the normal i915 driver and see what I can find.
If all else fails check out gentoo.org forums as someone there should have found a way for this already.

Did you get the libsogl fixed not sure if this is precisely the name.
Used "glxgears" as root in terminal and gave this error.
Getting 900fps avg but limited by error.

Also when booting of the cd / dvd add " insmod=i915 res=1280x800 " after pressing F5 in boot menu.

Works in both 3.4 loop3 and 1.0 BE but error = something small to fix. + Beryl is running fine.
Could be load glx and load dri that needs to be changed in above.
