Waiting for 3.4

Postby sqlpython » Mon Jul 16, 2007 6:01

As versions 3.3 and loop 2 & 3 have failed to install even with updating the installer.

Hopefully 3.4 has corrected the installer issues that I have encountered.
1. Odd Kde Kmixer appearing in Screen Center.
2. Failure to complete transfer of packagers from DVD
3. Install session Freezes..

All very stange as 3.3 mini worked and installed perfectly. :?:

Pinning my hopes on 3.4. Maybe the installer will be fixed.
I submitted the BUGS..so who knows?

I have my doubts now that I have Downloaded and tried the Business edtion which DarkMage said was more like 3.4..

I loaded the Business Ed v 1 livecd which is KDE 3.5 and got the Volume Widget that wouldn't go home... :(
It just stays there and evertime..like before ..when I increase the Volume it slides back to 0% :(

Try to check the keymapping as it looks like when you press a key and it is stuck but I suppose no key is stuck SL just thinks it is / key button not on your keyboard. It could possily be mapped wrong or something and so is not responding.

How to if this is it = no clue here. Possibly change the keyboard layout to UK / British to check or similar , not sure if that would help for laptop audio buttons to change layout. ? Might even be a bug in the keymapping software used that miss interprets the key.
I would check if I knew where the mute or volume down in keymapping to find this.

Hope this makes sense.

There is a slim chance that updating your bios will fix that. Slim, but it can't hurt to try.

Yes, I removed kmilo last week..Sorry should have updated thread but I never did install..
Eden gave instruction on another thread where we were discussing the install issues.
So, that is solved but the install still hangs up. and the installer was updated

Is it soup yet?

If not, when will it be?

I've got a new HD ready to do the new install on.

Thanks for any info.
