Sabayon 3.4 Loop 3 will not see my SCSI Drives

Postby jimmyx » Sat Jul 21, 2007 21:40

Hello there, I was hoping someone could help me with an issue I am having. I am attempting to install sabayon 3.4 loop 3a on to my system, i have several 15k rpm seagate SCSI Drives w/ an on board adaptec SCSI Controller. Sabayon keeps telling me no hard drives exist... It sees IDE Drives but no hard drives. Ive removed all ide HD (i still have an IDE DVD drive to install sabayon from) and it still does not see the HD's in dmseg I am seeing the following error: sd 2:0:1:0: SCSI error: return code = 0x08000002 & (scsi2:A:1:0): parity error detected in Data-in phase. SEQADDR(0x83) SCSIRATE(0x80) a number of times

the controller is: SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AIC-7892P U160/m (rev 02)

Any advice would be much appreciated. I would very much like to get this up and running on my SCSI Drives.

I am a newbie (oh no :( ) but i have installed this sucessfully on all my other systems with ide drives... just not this main dual xeon 2gb rambus 15k scsi unit...

UPDATE:
Ive disabled scsi parity and it now sees the drive, but i am still having read/write issues... as it will not allow me to proceed with the installation.

Anyone out there know of a solution to this issue??
