Getting ready for the 3.4 final

Postby ppape » Sun Jul 15, 2007 20:42

I have seem lots of posts discussing the best way to upgrade to the latest version. BY far the backup and restore seems to be the winner. How does one go about this? What packages do I need? Thanks

My way of doing it : putting /home on a separate partition.

Other ways : copying everything from /home to CDs, or DVDs, or an external hard drive, or a flash drive.

No extra packages/programs needed for any of those methods.

important ones are your /home /etc and /boot

all depends on what you edit and what you use I guess
