Truecrypt & GUIs

Postby Thrice » Sat Jul 14, 2007 21:39

Anyone know a good one? Google locked theirs up & onekript is no longer being worked on. The developer says something about "alternatives of better quality than OneKript." I thought I could google with the best, but can't find any alternatives.

For the record I'm not afraid of command line - It's just unexpected after using the windows GUI. If you got some good scripts post them.

Well if anyone cares.... & I'm sure you don't, ... I found a script here

The last one is best imo. I might get around to making it KDE specific, but don't count on it. I'm extremely bored.

i would LOVE sabayon to package a truecrypt GUI.

all my media is kept in a trucrypt drive, and i cannot really move linux-wards until i can access my media EASILY from both windows and linux.

You mean PRETTY-ly. It's already very easy. Just make a 2 line script

Code: Select all
#! /bin/bash

gksu -p --message "Word" | truecrypt --user-mount /home/sabayonuser/Myvolume /media/truecrypt/Myvolume
konqueror /media/truecrypt/Myvolume/

Set it executable, make & chown the relevant folders & done. You might want another 1 line script with "truecrypt --dismount." That's my current config. I'm sure I could make it better using that script I linked to earlier, but as I said I'm dreadfully bored.
