Problem with Portato on latest update (solved)

Postby rhomp2002 » Tue Jul 10, 2007 19:56

I was running an update this morning and all was going well except for this problem with Portato. Any ideas or is this something that will resolve itself in future updates.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for this hint. Sourceforge has disabled svn-access through svn.sf.net ... (they said "as announced" but I can't recall such an announcement ...)

Please do:
Code: Select all
layman -f
layman -d portato
layman -a portato

Did and now have another portato problem

Postby rhomp2002 » Tue Jul 10, 2007 23:25

When I did the layman -d portato I got the message that the overlay portato was deleted.

When I did the layman -a portato I got the message that the overlay portato did not exist.

Now what. I was getting used to portato and it worked so well. Hope you can get this fixed.

obviously you do not have added the portato-overlay file to your layman.cfg ...

thus your commands have to be:
Code: Select all
layman -o http://portato.sf.net/layman.xml -f
layman -d portato
layman -o http://portato.sf.net/layman.xml -a portato

(whereby you can omit the "layman -d" as you already have done this)

Might still have a problem

I am running a revdep-rebuild and the first thing I get after doing the above and getting the message that the portato was fine now is the following message:

Configuring search environment for revdep-rebuild

Checking reverse dependencies...

This does not look right to me after what I did above. Is there something else I am missing? I ran a sync and layman -S and then the revdep-rebuild and got this message right after I did the above entries. :? :? :?

That was what I was wondering

It seemed to me that doing what you suggested above would have made the entry for portato in all the right places and with the right repository. Could it be that it can't find the repository any more?

What entries should there be?

Postby rhomp2002 » Wed Jul 11, 2007 16:04

what should I have in the /usr/portage/local/layman/portato?

I have:

app-portage dev-util

dev-util has: portatosourceview
portatosourceview has: manifest portatosourceview-2.16.0-r1.ebuild

app-portage has: etcproposals portato
portato has: portato-0.7.4.2.ebuild portato-9999.ebuild Manifest portato-0.7.5.ebuild
etcproposals has: etcproposals-1.3.ebuild Manifest

where should the profiles/repo_name show up and what should it consist of?

:? :?
