Wubi for Sabayon?

Has anyone on here heard of Wubi? I've read that it's used for both Ubuntu and Debian, and is to be included as Ubuntu's official installer once it is ready.

I've tried it on my clunky 2003 32-bit desktop, and yes, it worked. However, it doesn't have any 64-bit builds at the moment, which means that I can't install it on this laptop that I got for Christmas (which, unlike our desktop, has both AMD Turion and Nvidia GeForce).

So anyway, I've had prior experience with Ubuntu (which has left a bad taste in my mouth), but I'm interested in trying out other Linux distros, and I've heard good things about Sabayon. However, the approaches that are taken by the Ubuntu folks to lower the barrier of entry, specifically with Wubi on the home desktop, have impressed me.

So my idea and suggestion for Sabayon Linux is that Sabayon can be installed on a joint partition with and through Windows using a Wubi-like installer, preferably one that can offer the option of installing either 32-bit or 64-bit Sabayon Linux.

Is that possible at this time? Thanks.

A VM? Nah, this isn't virtual.

I'm saying that Wubi is in .exe form. You download it, then run the .exe, which downloads the Ubuntu.iso from Bittorrent (you can pick which Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu/Studio you want), then installs it on your harddrive while you're in Windows.

Then, once it is installed, then restart. Then it gives you a bootup prompt so that you can select which OS that you want to run (WinXP, WinXP recovery, command prompt, or Ubuntu), then you can start it up, set up your settings and off you go with it.

What I'm thinking of is a Sabayon-Installer.exe.

It is actually a VM. It installs on NTSC in the form of a VM disk. Also, Sabayon HAS an exe installer. When you put the DVD in it comes up with a install screen. You choose to install sabayon and restart. The installer begins.

But Wubi is a diskless installer client. That's what I'm emphasizing, that Sabayon-Installer.exe doesn't require a CD or DVD to install the distro.

EDIT: Also, having to buy and burn a spare CD/DVD of an .iso is rather tedious, at least when there are ways to get around the "install disk" requirement.

Installing SabayonLinux doesn't get any more easier. Put the cd/dvd in and boot the puter, follow the wizard, presto

Most people like to have a live disk to try the distro out before installing it.

I never tried it, but it seems as though you could download the sabayon iso and mount it (via PowerISO or Alcohol 120%) and run the .exe without burning it. Once again, I never dealt with the .exe but it seems like it should work.

Personally I like to have a LiveDVD/CD, a) so that I can try it before installing and b) so that, if I trash the installed OS on my HDD for whatever reason, I can reinstall as fast as possible,

What abuot this. http://goodbye-microsoft.com/ ? Yes, this is Debian to. But I will prefer a DVD with more of packages.

I have done this on severals computer. But now Sabayon on all.
